More than 200 delegates from over 25 countries and territories gathered at Shenzhen from 5 to 6 November to attend The Second Knowledge Cities Summit, jointly hosted by Shenzhen Academy of Social Sciences, the Knowledge Management Research Centre of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and Shenzhen Graduate School of the Harbin Institute of Technology. The Summit was funded by the Shenzhen Municipal Government and officially opened by Mr Wang Rong, Acting Mayor of Shenzhen; Prof. Leif Edvinsson, Chairman of the New Club of Paris and Visiting Chair Professor of PolyU; Mr Wang Weiguang, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; and Mr Chen Jin, Deputy Director of Party Literature Research Centre of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. The opening ceremony was followed by The Most Admired Knowledge Cities Awards Presentation Ceremony, in which Shenzhen was awarded the "Outstanding Developing Knowledge City" Award. |
